Further to that, maybe you've been thinking about it for a while now, but haven't made a move, for fear you're making a mistake, you'll be labeled a ‘quitter' or you'll be the subject of the gossip mill. Regardless of your reasons, if you're having second thoughts about sticking it out with your current network marketing company, hang tight…cause I'm going to help sort you out, once and for all.
This is a conversation that is really timely and near and dear to my heart because I literally, just went through it. I recently made the very difficult decision to switch network marketing companies and start something new. Truth be told, I was very torn and nervous about the whole thing but in my heart of hearts, I knew it was the right thing to do. As a result of my experience, I thought I could help you know WHEN it’s a good idea to switch network marketing companies, and when it’s not.
TIME TO FINALLY SWITCH NETWORK MARKETING COMPANIES? – EPISODE 25
Firstly, the most important thing to consider here is when you should NOT switch network marketing companies. I’ve encountered a few really common reasons why people quit and move on, that, in truth, are not very good reasons at all. They are as follows…
❌1) THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER
If you are thinking of bailing on your network marketing company cause your girlfriend joined a new make-up deal that seems really cool and she’s crushing it…don’t! Ultimately, when we are struggling in our current situation, it often seems like others just have it easier.
We erroneously, believe that their success is proof that your product is harder to sell or your comp plan sucks, In comparison. Though occasionally, these issues may have merit…more often than not, they don't. Typically, it has more to do with people getting frustrated by the normal challenges one faces in their business, than it does anything else.
So, that being said, if you switch network marketing companies to head over to greener pastures, you are most likely to discover that there are loads of weeds over there too, lol!
❌2)YOUR UPLINE SUCKS
Listen up…a great upline is a bonus, not a requirement. This excuse is just a total non-starter, period. If you have a great upline, that’s fantastic! On the flip side though, they cannot make you successful ..nor can their lack of attention, prevent it. You still have to do the work, get the no’s, go through the numbers and hone the skills. So if your upline sucks…I’m really sorry about that but you shouldn’t let it drive you to switch network marketing companies.
❌3) YOUR FAMILY DOENS’T SUPPORT YOU
Yep…super common. As much as it sucks to have people hate on what you’re doing, it has no relevance to what you are trying to accomplish in your business. If uncle John isn’t paying your autoship…he doesn’t get an opinion.
There you have it…three less-than-stellar reasons to switch network companies. If you see yourself in any of those 3 excuses we covered, consider staying put and working on your belief and your skills.
Now, let’s move on to the reasons why you probably SHOULD switch network marketing companies. Sometimes, staying where you are really doesn’t make sense. In fact, if you’re stuck in the wrong company for you, it will be much harder for you to succeed. So..here we go…
REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD SWITCH NETWORK MARKETING COMPANIES.
✅REASON #1: SOMETHING SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES
If something that is pivotal to your belief in your product, service or opportunity changes, you may very well, be better off finding a new home. For example, if your company chooses to head in a totally different direction than you anticipated, or if the comp plan changes in a way you can’t get behind, then you may want to extricate yourself before it gets worse for you.
✅REASON #2: THE COMPANY IS IN TROUBLE
If you discover that your company is sinking or is in trouble in some way, financially or otherwise, than consider THAT a darned-good reason to find a new home. Secondly, If morale is low, reps aren’t getting paid, the product is suffering or whatever… you should consider jumping ship! Conversely, you may want to hang on and see where it goes, and if that’s what feels right…more power to you. What’s critical here, is that you don’t feel guilty about choosing to leave if you are no longer thriving.
Most importantly, you should NEVER stay in a network company out of some misguided loyalty, or for fear that your teammates and leaders will gossip and call you a quitter. Who gives a toss what they think?!!? If you are unhappy and want to go, then get moving, sweetie…we’re burning daylight each and every day. Don’t waste time, trying to please other people instead of doing what is right for you. In truth, if you feel out of integrity and the situation doesn’t feel congruent to your core values… or just plain feels wrong, you’ll struggle to have success, anyway.
✅REASON #3: ETHICAL ISSUES
If the energy, behaviour, or attitudes of those around you in your network marketing company, strike you as lacking in ethics, in some way…RUN as fast as you can away from that company! That can be a super slippery slope. If you excuse the little lapses in ethics, increasingly bigger ones will show up and you’ll be faced with the dilemma over and over again. All said, if they are doing anything unethical…you should join forces with a network marketing company that is more in line with your personal ethics and values.yui
✅REASON #4: YOU LOSE YOUR PASSION
This thing is supposed to be fun! Did you know that it? Truthfully, if you are not enjoying this journey, you really should ask yourself why? If you don’t look forward to talking about your business…if you get a knot in your stomach at the thought of prospecting someone about it…consider whether it is jut not a good fit for you, in the first place.
In fact, it’s possible it never was! If you are not super passionate about what you’re doing in your network marketing company, find something else. Additionally, if you have zero desire to be a product of the product, and you’re really not inspired by it, those are super good signs that it’s not the best fit for you. Leave…and find something better suited to you and what you love.
Never stay because of others or their expectations of you. That’s not a good enough reason to stay where you …or your teammates are not thriving. When you switch network marketing companies and find something that you are truly passionate about, you are going to feel soooo much better about the whole thing. I know for me, when I made the switch, I felt like I could BREATHE for the first time in a long time.
✅REASON #5: THE TEAM CULTURE SUCKS
If the team culture in your company is toxic and you don’t feel celebrated …RUN FOR THE HILLS, lol! Ideally, you really want to be connected to a company culture that is truly supportive and inclusive, regardless of your personal goals or achievements. If you are not being fully appreciated where you are, I recommend switching network marketing companies, to find a culture that embraces you.
